Who we buy from
Migratory beekeepers, not a factory
Honey in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa follows the flowering. Beekeepers load hives onto pickups and move them down to the beri and acacia in the plains, then back up to the alpine flowers in summer. We buy from the people who do that driving.
How a jar reaches you
- The hives move to the flower
Down to Karak and Kohat for beri in October. Out to Mardan and Charsadda for palosa in April. Up past Chitral for the alpine flow in June. - Only capped frames are pulled
A frame the bees have not sealed still holds too much water and will ferment. Waiting for the caps is the difference between honey that keeps and honey that spoils. - Cold extraction, coarse straining
Spun out at ambient temperature and passed through a coarse mesh only. No heating, no fine filtration, so the pollen stays in. - A sample goes to the lab
Moisture, HMF and diastase per batch. The figures go on the product page whether or not they flatter us. - Jarred, sealed, batch-coded
The code on the lid matches the batch plate on the website. If they do not match, do not accept the jar.
What we will not do
- Feed sugar syrup during a nectar flow to inflate yield.
- Heat honey to keep it looking clear on the shelf.
- Blend two districts and sell it under the better name.
- Print a health claim we cannot stand behind.
Visiting an apiary
If you are buying in quantity and want to see the hives, message us. Access depends on the season and on where the hives have been moved to.
